Authorize.net problems

Guest

Recommended Posts

Maybe I missed something (I have not visited the forums in awhile), but my Authorize.net payment module does not work now. I get back a message in the address string that 'There has been errors processing your credit card, please try again. I know Authorize.net changed their setup recently (I think you have to use relay or something now), but I did install a contribution a few months ago for it (I forgot which one, I will have to research it tomorrow). Any clues what I should look for/do? It was working last week just fine.

eeks, well it looks like Authorize.net changed some needed info on transactions, and I completely missed it. I am using Bao Quoc Nguyen's 8/28/02 Authorizenet ADC Direct Connection Contribution, with a snapshot date of June, 2002. I can't go to the new checkout procedure/new snapshot that quickly. Is there any way I can get this to work with my current snapshot/contribution? I'm in dire need of help quickly ( I know everyone cries that, but i'm not making $$$). I don't have much $$ to offer for help/support, but i'd be willing to give some free candles away to anyone who could help. I have a few customers waiting for it to be fixed to order.

Hello,

I was planning on using authorize.net also! I would be glad to assist you with the programming / solution for this. Could you provide me with all the info. you have. I would like to compare it to what I am running. I also need to select a card processor / merchant account to use with authorize.net any suggestions?

I have a suggestion. I can only say this worked for me. I cannot promise it will work. I have a snapshot from about Dec 17, 2002. Here is what I did. It certainly worked for me. Go to this post, and read about it:

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...t=authorize+net.

Authorize.net website tasks:

After you substitute these files, you must get a Transaction key from Authorize.net. Do this by logging onto authorize.net. Choose "settings" then under Security choose "Obtain a Transaction key". You must answer your security question, and do not forget to select the "Disable old transaction key box!"!!!! You need to do this EVEN IF YOU NEVER HAD A TRANSACTION KEY BEFORE!! Additionally, you must set up your Authorize.net accordingly!

1) Make sure you are in password required mode.

2) Make sure there is no URL in Receipt page under receipt method.

3) Make sure there is no URL in Relay Response Under Default Relay Response URL

4) Under Direct Response make sure you have the following:

Delimited Response: Answer NO

Default Field Seperator: Use the comma

Leave Field encapsulation character empty.

5) Turn test mode ON by going to settings then under general and then under Test Mode.

**** I did NOT disable weblink. I am not sure how this will work if you have disabled it in the past.

OSCommerce shopping cart Admin settings:

Make sure you go to the admin of your OSC and turn off the authorize.net module before you make the changes at the posted link above then turn it back on after you finish. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! After you make the changes, Cut, and Paste your transaction key from authorize.net into your new Transaction key field in your admin. DO NOT TRY TO TYPE IT IN!! It is case sensitive, and it is likely you will make a typo, and it will not work.

1)Set the authorize.net settings to match these:

2)Enable Authorize.net module: True

3)Login User Name: your authorize.net User name (the same one you use to log into authorize.net's website)

4)Transaction Key: Be sure to cut and paste it from authorize.net.

Transaction Mode: Production (Do not try to use the test mode!)

Transaction Method: Credit Card

Customer Notifications: Choose either. I dont thisk this will affect your outcome.

Payment Zone: None

Set Order Status: Pending. (I dont think it matters what this is set to)

Sort order of display: 0 (This only tells the software which order to present the payment options to the customer at checkout. Assuming you have more than one payment module selected, it will order it according to the lowest number first)

I hope this helps!!

Mark

Steve & Lisa,

Authorize.net has many merchant account resellers to choose from. It can be a very confusing and tedious process to get set up with one. I used merchantwarehouse. You can go to their website: www.merchantwarehouse.com. If you shop around, you will find set up costs in the range of $250.00 and up. You can expect to pay just over 2% (discount rate) of the charged amount plus a per transaction fee of about 30 cents. I was able to negotiate the following:

2.17% discount rate plus 24 cents per transaction.

I only had to pay $49.00 to set the account up. This was VERY attractive for me because I did not want to pay a huge amount of money up front.

If you are interested in more details, e-mail me and I will be glad to give you all the details.

Thanks!

Mark
