Guest Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Just had an email from a customer who said my site crashed when they put their order through. Have had a look and its the checkout_process.php that it gets a 500 Internal Error. It says.... Internal Server ErrorThe server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/2 Server at web54.secure-secure.co.uk Port 443 Nothing has changed and I haven't added any contribs etc recently. Anyone any ideas what this means??? All help appreciated

All help appreciated Use ftp to check for any recently changed files, 500 errors are usually htaccess related. Consider a possible hacking cause, have u secured your admin & removed file manager? Guest Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Ok so I have checked the .htaccess files and all seem right, I have checked the checkout php files and there are no spaces top or bottom. I have now reinstalled the backup from when the site was working and I still get the error. So I have sent an email to my provider to ask if they have upgraded their server and if he can reboot apache as this is what others with this problem seem to have found. The other threads all seem to relate to contribs, none of which I have installed. No further on and pulling my hair out!!! Thanks for all the help so far, if anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
Guest Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 A little bit more info..... I found some white space in the payment module but that didn't solve anything What I did find is that if I use Nochex to checkout I don't get the error but if I select cheque/bank transfer (moneygram) I get it. Not sure if that helps anyone understand the problem.......it doesn't to me Still waiting on my provider to get back to me......aaaarrrrhhhhhhh
