Where is this "catalog" file?

I just downloaded and unzipped "oscommerce-3.0a5" and I have searched all the subfolders and for the life of me I can't find any "directory" (which I surmise means a folder) called "catalog". Could somebody enlighten me on where it is?

Posts about v3 should be made somewhere here

Look at the top of this page.

This part of the forum is for osCommerce Online Merchant v2.x exclusively.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Now that I know that I won't get any support for v.3 (namely that I am told to go to a group where there seems to be very little traffic in general (about half of the questions have "no reply" by them and I got no reply to my own after 12 hours), i have decided not to use this product and have downloaded v.2, and sure enough, there is "Catalog" sitting there in front of me after the first click.

I don't know if there is anybody in charge of this "open source' trip here, but those persons should know that the installation instructions for v.3 tell you to load a nonexistent file.

To bad that the customer service of this trip here don't work properly.

I didn't found anywhere, in v3 anything to mention a file called "catalog". Can you tell me where you found such an instruction?

Now I am hung op on the next page. It says,

"The web based configuration procedure is started in a web browser, by going to:

http://www.my-server.com/osCommerce/

osCommerce automatically detects if the installation has been finished, and redirects to the installation procedure if the installation has not yet been finished."

The preceding page told me to install "Catalog", and it didn't say anything about installing "osCommerce", so naturally I get a 404 when I type in www.bliss-fire.com/osCommerce.

The link in the knowledge base refers to version 2 not 3. It's also not saying anything about a file catalog, but about a folder.

Regarding what you have to type in for installation: If you uploaded a folder "catalog" then you don't need to type "osCommerce" ofcourse, but /catalog/

You can take also a look here about installation issues

OK, I followed all his instructions all the way to "Then go to http://www.yourdomain.com/install and begin the install procedure."

When I added "/install" to www.bliss-fire.com/catalog/, I got "Index of /catalog/install", and when I clicked on "Parent Directory", I got a list of php files, none of which are called "install".

So now what the hell do I do?

What I did was go back and reinstall catalog/install, and after that I added "install.php" to the url, and now I am at least getting the page that they said I would get. This may not be over yet, if it ain't. I'll be back.
