Guest Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Hello! I was wondering if it is possible to embed my catalog into another page located in my root directory (outside of osCommerce). The reason I ask is because I don't really need a "catalog". I just have one product, with some options, and a buy now button. It is just a simple cart with a few options that I would like to embed into to a separate page outside of osCommerce. Please let me know if this is possible, and how I can go about doing this. Thank you!
GemRock Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 heres my "elementary" answers: 1. you do not have to install osc under a catalog (or whatever you name it) directory. you can install it at root directory; 2. given that you only sell a single product, you may be better off not to use osc but take a look at Paypal or Googlecheckout. theres simple buy now button solutions; or 3. wait for someone to give you non-elementary answers. Ken Hello Ken! I unfortunately cannot use paypal/google buy now buttons alone because I require that the cart calculate price based on two different options that the users input. As far as I know, paypal and google only offer very basic functionality in their forms when it comes to user selection and price calculation (basically just a drop-down box). I would need two drop-down boxes, which would be able to calculate the total price by adding the cost of each selection together. By the way, I don't mind your elementary answers. It is better than no answer at all!
GemRock Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 those buy now buttons do allow you to have options (a dropdown box) unless your options are an unlimited number. it is not a problem to install osc at root in fact most store owners install it at root level.
