Return after adding to Cart ?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way, or a contribution, that makes it so that a customer is returned back to the page they were on after adding an item to the shopping cart ?

Hi,

In your admin / configuration you can set you store to not redirect to the shopping cart when an item i added, so it will remain on the same page

I added this code to shopping_cart.php to take them back from whence they came:

This works everywhere fine exept the case I add a product to cart via the front page (featured products installed and Sam's product listing contribution) where I get following error

Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://aaa.com/catalog/index.php?products_id=45”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

Hi,

This is driving me nuts !

I added the code but still the "continue shopping" button is not there. I know the button will show up because I substituted it for the "Update" button and it shows.

Maybe I have got the code wrong somewhere - so Im posting my Cart.php file if anyone can help.

after getting this error?

Call to a member function add_current_page() on a non-object in application_top.php on line 324

doing this removes the continue button in my experience.

Well it might have something to do with your navigation history.

It has to pass a logic test in the code to display the button. It might be failing there.

If you want to rig a temporary test for that, this code:

Then if the word "Continue" shows up on the page you just proved it's a navigation history problem.

Unfortunately I personally wouldn't even know where to begin to fix that...

thank you - changed the code as you suggested and the "Continue shopping" button now appears. So it does look like a Navigation history problem.

When I hit the button it takes me back to the previous page I was on - when I would ideally like it to take me back to the category I was on.

Can anyone suggest where my nav history may be corrupt ?

At Last sorted it !!!

Thanks for all the help - after adding nic's change to the application_top file and Germ's change to the cart file, and adding part of FOD's contribution "continue shopping fix" my continue shopping button now appears and it takes me back the the last category viewed prior to going to the cart.

Just the result I wanted.
