multimixer Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Talking about the "store" we have 2 things/sections 1) the files 2) the database We need to have a backup of both, how? 1) Files You can do it (a) via your host cpanel, if he offers such an option as backup files, or you can compress all files and download them (b) using one of the contributions like sam said 2) Database: You can do it (a) again host cpanel, must be something like a backup manager (b) phpMyAdmin, export the database [c) using osCommerce admin panel? (d) using a contribution as Sam said My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel

I don't know much about server, could you please provide the info a little detail. Thank you for your help! If I register a new domain in the new server, anything needs to be changed after restoring?

Using Database backup manager is the easest way to backup, then restore your dbase, as that can do things like partial restores, if you need to. At your new site you would need to go over your configure files, to reflect the new server & changes in dbase login, also check your local folders (if your copying files across too) as well as any htaccess files.
