fabcards Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi there Im in the process of moving host servers and just thought it would be a matter of copying over the database and the files from one server to the other. At the moment im getting this error when i preview wmy site Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory. I have searched this forum and have seen references to making changes to the .htaccess file but mine looks nothing like what other posters have pasted in....all thats in mine is the path to the index.php file...i also dont seem to have access to a php.ini file to make changes to that....any help?

You should always back up first so you can easily restore it. An alternative is to upgrade to 2.2RC2A though if you have lots of contributions already installed this may not be the way to go. I have not installed nor looked at this one, make sure you back up use a file compare program to see the changes like winmerge. Nic Thanks I found another tread which detailed the individual changes to make http://svn.oscommerce.com/fisheye/changelog/osCommerce/?cs=1583 Seemed to work only thing was that it required changes to files in a trunk directory which i dont seem to have!. Will see how this goes...thanks for your help
