mykeh Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Guys/Gals I am brand new to OS COmmerce so be gentle :) My question is - is it possible to have a customer CHECKOUT and not be asked to select a payment method. Many of my customer are of the older generation and do not want to pay by Credit card or Paypal etc - they just want to send me a cheque in the post When they have checked out - I will get their order details shipping address etc be that by email or whatever. Is this doable? Any thoughts

Is this doable? Any thoughts Besides PayPal and credit card, osCommerce has a COD option for payment. Your customers could select that to complete the checkout procedure.
MrPhil Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 There's also an option for accepting cheques/money orders (look at the moneyorder module). You simply hold shipment until the cheque is received, deposited, and clears.

As I do not have a huge amount catergories the out the box osCommerce will work just fine, the question is how easy it to add my own Banner and possibly other graphics Do I need to but the osCommerce to allow me that facility? To day I use Dreamweaver to edit my pics on a static webpage can I still use Dreamweaver? 2.) Is it possible to correct some of the spelling example - in the Check Out one of the options is CHECKS/Money Orders I want to change to CHEQUES/POSTAL ORDERS

It is easy to add your own banner and images. This is normally done with some HTML know how. You can read up on the banner manager in the manual, or search the forum for exactly what you want to achieve. Do I need to but the osCommerce to allow me that facility? So you can easily just rename a piece of text to whatever you want.
