My admin is all gone. What happened?

I recently discovered that I can no longer log into my admin pages. When I add it to the end of my site address /admin, the page doesn't open. What could have happened to it? I've checked that the files are still there in my FTP client. Why can't I access it online? Was I hacked? Any suggestions of getting it to work? Or should I upload a fresh copy of OSCommerce. Thank you.

have you made any changes to your htacess file? I had the same prob last week and that is what caused my issue.

place a simple hello.html file in admin folder and check whether its getting displayed.

If Yes I recommend You upload a fresh admin folder or a backup copy.

I created a simple hello.html file and put in the admin folder. Nothing happened. Should I replace the admin folder files with a fresh copy. I never made back ups of the original files.

If Your admin folder is not visible I recommend You to contact Your hosting support.

As its more of an OS(LINUX) issue.
