The e-commerce.

Adding VAT to entire order.

By this I mean, all the products on my site currently have vat added. It would be preferable to most of our users if they could view the products without vat. Then on choosing their products and proceeding to checkout the vat would then be added to the entire order and displayed as a separate sum.

Hi,

From memory, this is what I did. I have now started writing things down so I don't have to remember........

You need two Tax Zones in Admin.

1. EU Zone (for VAT at 17.5 %)

2. Rest of the World zone (for the rest)

Add the current 15 (as of Feb 2003) EU countries to your EU zone.

Add all 224 non-eu countries to your Rest of the World zone.

For my site I createed 2 SQL files automate this update through phpMyadmin as it is a pain add 224 countries one-by-one. I can try to make a Contribution if it is any use to anyone or send them to you to see if they work for you at your risk.

Next, create a 'Europe' Tax Rate of 17.5% in Admin.

When a user registers and enters their country, osc does the rest and outs VAT as a line item on the checkout page as required.

Thinks that's 'all' I did.
