easy-netshop Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi, A Newbie here so please be gentle with me! I have been uploading to some other websites using an Excel csv type file with thousands of product on. I have had to adapt a lot of them from eBay turbo lister files to the one required foran Auctiva Commerce website. Now the question I have is this, and please forgive me if it's been asked before, how do I create a suitable csv file for an OSCommerce website? I need to know how many fields are required and there titles of course. It would be really great if someone could point me to a ready made blank one I could adapt. I have contacted the help and support dept from the company that supplied and set up my website but they said I should contact oc Commerce for advice so I figure you guys are the ones that know all the answers! Thanking you all in advance, Martin.
burtonsnow8 Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If you have easy populate already installed there is a list of field headers in the easy populate interface in the admin panel. Or you can use the EP interface to manually export a file and that will include all the headers. www dot airflowresearch dot com/temp/EP.rar
easy-netshop Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Hi Chris, Thanks for getting back to me with the information, I did as you suggested and downloaded a csv file then deleted the content and added my own. After a bit of trial and error I found some collums could be left blank whereas some others couldn't. Uploaded a test file of about 15 items with little difficulty. The only problem I have now is the images - they dont apprear and although the format looks different to those on the origional csv I really thought they would work anyway, but no. The images were in this format: products/000.jpg whereas the images I have tried to upload are in this format: http://www.dvdetc/etc/etc.jpg Any help with this one? Many thanks once again for the help you have provided so far. Martin.

I think you can change the settings in EP as to where the image folder points to. Once that is set you can just put the image name (image.jpg, image.gif) and it should link properly.
