Quick question - changing around template

Hi guys,

 

newbie to oscommerce however i am starting to get a grip on it.

 

i have 2 simple questions and sorry if they sound silly...

 

Q1 (want to learn to edit templates): How do i edit a oscommerce template. for eg if you goto http://www.rajabracing.com.au/eboost.com.au/osc/products_new.php - i found this free template and i am using this as my test bed before i do any live stuff. i have strong dreamweaver/web design knowledge however i am stuck on changing this template around. where would i start? for eg i want to move the header lower, want to add new tables etc etc.

 

Q2: if i have an existing website how do i display JUST the new products on a old site down the side bar for example. if they like what they see then they can click through to the product it self or to further products which will then link back to my oscommerce page.

 

any ideas?

Hey John,

 

To be honest with you...

 

If you really want to expand on your web design skills, take a look at the STS contribution.

 

It would probably be easier than mucking around in someone else's template. A lot of templates out there are plaqued with bugs and or compatability issues.

 

Install osC with STS and have fun!
