Please can I get some help ! ( on the computer stuff anyway!)

I am trying to launch a website to sell my jewellery findings,beads etc. I have sold on ebay for a while so have a paypal account but am now getting greedy and want my own website. I would like it to be quite clean and easily navigated but I would also like to add blogs, and regular updates.

Problem: I only have access to/knowledge of Applemacs and a lot of the template/html stuff seems to work for PC's. I have already tried to learn html and/or get some downloads but am not getting anywhere fast.

Does anybody have any help or advice they could offer?

That's nonsense. You could even argue that it is easier to install an osCommerce installation on a Mac. A Mac already has the Apache webserver built in. PHP is installed standard (I think it has to be enabled in the Apache configuration file though) so the only thing you have to install is MySQL.

As long as you haven't installed Snow Leopard you can use YourSQL to work directly with the MySQL database (need to find a replacement for that now :( )

 

I'm sure you can Google the web for more detailed explanations on how to enable PHP on a Mac. MySQL is a simple install.
