Hammer100 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hello All, Wonder if someone out there could help with a little problem I am having. A while ago I found a post on here that explained how to remove the 3 Icons that appear by default on the main page just next to where your Header Banner is and also this centred my store rather than have the entire page covered and cause problems for people viewing in higher resolutions. Now this all worked fine but people viewing in 800x600 where still having problems so I found this contribution http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2710 and followed the instructions to the letter but when it came to uploading the amended files I could see the centre page with the nice border but my site kind of sat on top of this and didnt resize at all and in fact had moved over to the right quite a bit and even I had to scroll across to see the whole site. I rechecked to make sure I followed the instructions and found no errors but I did notice that the contributor states that the site has to be unamended and I am wondering if what I did above is stopping this contribution from working. The problem is that I cant remember what I did do and having gone through all my backups I cant find where or what file I amended when originally moving my store to the centre. I am hoping that someone may know the file I would have amended so I can upload the original to put it back to a full screen store again to start this contribution from scratch or even have some idea why the store is moving over to the right while the centre border is in the right position. Appreciate any help Thanks H
spooks Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 There are many ways to achieve this, that contib details the simplest, but many use way over complex ones, some even add extra files & sql entries!! So without a link to your site there's no way to tell where u messed up. PS Very very few use as low as 800x600 anymore, I would bother pandering to them, most use at least 1024x768, remember if your store size is too small, it will look lost on many peoples screens. Sam Remember, What you think I ment may not be what I thought I ment when I said it.
