As above, I find the contribution for it impossible to implement and understand. Anyone provide a easy to read version?

What do you find difficult about it?

It is probably one of the easiest mods to install!

Try and explain what you mean in more detail and we will try to help you understand.

The version 1.1, comes out on wordpad as 1 big long line with

square boxes everywhere.

It makes copy and paste a nightmare, do you include the boxes, delete the boxes. Very confusing.

I wouldnt use DW as your editor.

It is ok for this kind of thing, but it has a tendency to add little bits of it's own, becos it thinks it knows best.

Use something more simple, ultraedit or summat like that.

There are so many you could go on forever, but DW aint the best thing for this.

Besides it is as slow as hell for just a text file.

I disagree,

Dreamweaver is it pretty useful as a text editor.

You can replace all files in a folder e.t.c,

and it doesnt add code to your pages if you do not want.

It actually removes extra tags and will make sure your html fits the standard. The latest version (MX) will also make your files XHTML complient. So your pages can be viewed across different devices in the future (you just need a plug in for your device).

So you write the page once, and can read across different browsers.

THATS THE REASON WHY DREAMWEAVER' S ROUNDTRIP HTML editor was built.

People wanted a smart html editor which does not bloat html files.

The only bits it adds are for editing at a later date.

So for example , if you had a rollover and three layers ,

DW would put this info as comments in your html file.

If you later open this file with the comments, you can change your layers.

There are options to remove tags and not include these useful tags if you want.

Of course it more of a designers environment than a programmers,

but it does try the to help these two groups equally.

The major complaint that I have with my version or Dreamweaver is that it don't color the tags. That is why I use HomeSite 5. I agree that it is a wonderfull product, I do love it, but when it comes to text editing it leave something to be desired. Now, I haven't used MX yet, mainly becuase right now I don't have the funds to afford even the upgrade. And right now I can think of other things to do with $250+ bucks.
