Help with loading template... what do i enter

Hi Guys,

 

I have been reading on here trying to find the answer, and i know alot of you get narky at people who are complete newbies when making websites, but i need help. I have been trying alot of things... and nothings working.

 

Can you tell me what i put in the below feilds... or where i find the info / set up info.

 

 

Now in the feilds this is what im currently putting.

 

Database Server - ftp.wontputrealwebsite.com.au

 

UserName -

Password -

In these two sections ive tried afew things.

Ive tried:

my Host login and PW.

Set up a new user in my MySQL Databases

Added a new used to my MySQL Databases

 

It keeps saying:

Access denied for user 'SOMEONE'@'cp19-vrta.sra.net.au' (using password: YES)

 

NOTHING IS WORKING.... im going mad :angry:

 

Can you please please help....

PS - i have no idea what to put in Database name

Try to do following:

 

1) you go to your host cpanel and create a database. This database will have a name, a username and password for the user. Write it down. (Alternativelly you can do the same thing via your phpMyAdmin, but I think you have a cpanel at your host or some other feature to create databases)

 

2) You go back to the install and enter following

Database server: mostly just ---->mysql<---- (if something else, ask your host

Username and password: whatever you used when creating the database

Batabase name: The name you gave, possible that it has a prefix like mm_thenameyougace (again this info from your host)

database server is most commonly Localhost

 

when u set up your database & create the user u are going to use, don't forget to give that use full permissions.

I dont know what im doing wrong. i have tried it all now.

 

In

Database Server: i have tried: IP address, ftp... , mysql, localhost

 

nothings working :'(

 

I keep getting...

 

There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured:

 

Access denied for user 'something'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

 

Please verify the connection parameters and try again.
