lindsayanng Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I just migrated to a new dedicated server. The guy who set up the server for me was great and said that he copied all of the settings from my other server to make sure that everything is pretty consistent and I shouldn't have to worry abotu making code upgrades.. I did email him with this error, but I wanted to post here too.. So this error happens when I go to create a category, it lets me do that. Then I go to create a new product in that category and this is where it gets weird. When i save the new product, I get reverted back to the login screen. Then when i go back to to category, both the category and the products in it are GONE!!! And if I click on an existing product to edit, where the "AJAX ATTRIBUTES MANAGER" box is to add the attribute templates has the admin login screen INSIDE of it.. REALLY weird. Here is a picture: Also, every time you hit the BACK button, i am logged out. these are the errors I get save my product and get logged out and then when I log back in: Warning: reset() [function.reset]: Passed variable is not an array or object in /home/bscphoto/public_html/shop/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 18 Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/bscphoto/public_html/shop/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 19 A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. lindsayanng Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 OK.. well, my server guy emailed me and he said he changed the php from suPHO to cgiPHP and that fixed the problem So now the question arose - how do I make OSCOMMERCE work with suPHP?? spooks Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Your symptoms are typical of a loss of sid issue, or sessions problem, can be caused by admin contribs that fail to use tep_href_link. Check your configure settings, esp cookies. If you edit a product, but get logged out when u click on update, it is common that the product gets wiped!! lindsayanng Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Yea.. I know I am loosing the oscID but the thing is, there were no edits to the files at all. The only difference is i migrated from a shared hosting plan to my own dedicated server. its also a fact that as soon as I switch from suPHP to cgiPHP the problem goes away.. ALL of the problems - the logging out AND the DB warning. From what I can understand, because suPHP is more secure, the error it is giving is a permissions error of some sort.. But i have no idea how to possibly make it work with suPHP. A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP.
