ajsinopoli Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Hello, Sorry if these are newbie questions but we are newbees. We are hopefully getting to the point where we will be up and running soon. We will be selling wine from a liquor store and have a bit of a problem with the setup for pricing. Say a single bottle of wine is $10.99, we run 2 bottle specials on hundred of wines that might be $8.99 for 2 bottles or more. I dont see a way to set that up properly so when you check out the qty is two when you select two bottles. I set a product attribute called "2 bottles or more" value of $8.99 but when you display the item and add it to cart you either end up with 1 item in the cart at the 2 bottle discount of $8.99 or 1 bottle in the cart at the total of what 2 bottles would cost. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also it would ne nice of there was a checklist somewhere to help direct us along the way. We signed up with justhost.com and bought a template from one of there partners. We are almost done entering the items into what we thought was the template but it turns out was the OScommerce database I believe based on the link. http://janddwines.com/osc/admin/ When asking justhost.com what we needed to do next they said to install an online shopping cart, but dont we have that with the OScommerce package we installed? When we tried installing OS commerce merchant services it looked exactly like we had been editting....:-( DO WE SOUND CONFUSED. So what is next, do we need a payment gateway? Is one better than the other? What are the rates? Once again any help is appreciated. Thanks, Tony 0
