locating source to change filetypes (image formats)

Hi can anyone help..I have realised that the file formats currently being used is images.gif and for some reason not displaying on my website..I have transfered an image from a .gif to .jpeg format and for some reason this works.

 

but when i go to change my buttons.gif to buttons.jpeg its not showing is there a way to perhaps change in a config.php file to alter .giff to .jpg filetypes..Thanks

WOW what browser are you using?

 

You should be at least able to view image formats of GIF, JPG, PNG.

 

There's no settings or configuring that I know of in osC that would make a difference.

thats what i would of thought. Its weird but for some strange reason my jpeg formats work but .giff images are not.
