rikpotts Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Ive started to update my website but am struggling because it isnt possible to copy and paste the ammendments to my install. Id like to hear how other peoplehave managed to do it. At the moment im opening the file in the Admin side of my site, and copy and pasting line by line. I want to just copy mutliple lines of ammendments. This is why I cannot copy more than one line.... I have to copy the right hand side and paste it into my code. I could always paste into wordpad and then try to delete the unwanted bits but im looking at a day or two already.
Xpajun Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Get yourself a decent text editor, mine will compare 2 files find the differences and apply them to either file (you choose block by block) - very quick! Unfortunately I can't advise you on what to get as I use a mac (editor is Text Wrangler which I believe is mac only) My store is currently running Phoenix 1.0.3.0 I'm currently working on 1.0.7.2 and hope to get it live before 1.0.8.0 arrives (maybe 🙄 ) I used to have a list of add-ons here but I've found that with the ones that supporters of Phoenix get any other add-ons are not really neccessary

I found RC1 on rapidshare so am now able to compare the files like you suggest, using the html instruction (the image above) as a reference to the relevant parts. The OSC website only hosts the RC2 version. I use winmerge... have done for years. Are any others recommended?
