Guest Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 We lost the shopping cart off the server and are having to rebuild it. I am not experienced with this, so please bear with me. We have the front end of the site which then linked to OSCommerce. Do I install osc on that same website or do I get a new domain (shop.my site.com) and put osc on it and then link to it? This is the way I did it for a different (not osc) ecommerce site, and now I am using osc for another new site, but not doing the front end until later. So I don't have a good understanding of how these 2 sites fit together (the main site and the ecommerce portion). I will be forever thankful if someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you.
FIMBLE Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Hi You can put the store on the same domain name, it what most do, to seperate them on the server usually the files are placed in another folder either the default catalog, or in shop / Store etc... It depends on how it has been linked in the past, again most people seem to have a link on the "other" site saying shop online, or our store etc NIc Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post [/url] My Contributions
