freejojoey Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 so i'm lazy. i looked at the upgrade package and freaked out at how much time it would take me to do all that stuff. faster: clean install of the newest version of osc. problem: old database with shit-tons of stuff in it. is it possible to install my old database into the new version of osc without any retardation? call me lazy, but have you seen the instructions for the upgrade? ummm yeahh... we're talkin hours of edits. my client ain't payin for that.
web-project Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 almost the same, few updates, I believe in upgrade manual the patch is available. is it possible to install my old database into the new version of osc without any retardation? yes, it's possible, unless your database tables modified & this mean the data will be different. simply create dump file with data without any table structure and move to new database. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
