Editing Files

Hi All

 

I am new to all this but i need to edit my index.php file and my shipping file. I have found the files in my database but when i try to edit them i get a red message at the top of the screen saying " Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/congrats/public_html/shop//includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/table.php"

 

I can not find how to set these permissions anywhere is there any way this is done

Eve, what text do you want to change and how are you going about it?

To edit any of the files you should first download the file to your computer, then edit it, and upload it again. Some hosts have a file manager that allows you to edit files. you dont need to enter your database to edit files.
