Greetings Fellow Shop Owners,

 

We all are intrigued by the idea and dream of owning a successful OSC set-up. Also, there are many questions in these forums of how to build relevant inbound links and where to get them. The question of how to build relevant links has been answered several times. But the answer to where to get relevant links from is right before our eyes. Right here in the OSCommerce Support Forums. OSCommerce is boasting with over 14,000 live shops and growing daily.

 

These forums are very active and there seem to be a strong sense of community. So why not start here? There are many quality shops here that receive an abundance of traffic with great page rank. Of course you evaluate your prospective OSC link partner just the same as any other link partner who requested to exchange links with you on the internet.

 

Here are some guidelines that could come into play:

 

1) Link to shops that display 'Powered by Oscommerce'

 

2) Request link exchange in the forum by posting a link to your store and ask any prospects to PM you.

 

3) Resolve issues with link partners privately through PM.

 

4) Accept/Decline prospects via PM.

 

Those are just some suggestions. Feel free to elaborate or criticize.

 

I've seen this happening on a link exchange forum. Its not yet popular. I believe that idea would be very beneficial to the OScommerce community. I know this would have to be moderated and approved by OSCommerce administration.
