jigga1234 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Hi is there anyway of making easy populate download a csv file that contains the product ID as well as the product model. The reason for this is that I have quite a few products from different manufacturers that have the same code. eg Y110050 is a cap from Henri Lloyd worth £18.00 and also is a Waterproof Plasma TV from Outhill boat supplies worth £2,300. If I download a csv file to make changes to all my products in Henri Lloyd and then re upload it Easy populate makes whatever changes I have made to my Henri Lloyd product as well as my Outhill product and I obviously dont want this to happen. If I can download Product ID as well as product Model then these would be unique as two products cannot have the same Product ID, therfore if I make any changes to my products I will know that these will only apply to the products in my csv file and not all products that happen to share the same code in my database. I know I could go back and give all my products a unique model number that would solve the problem however we use manufacturers codes for our products as it just keeps things very simple as we dont have to cross reference our unique codes to get the correct manufacturers codes.

I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.
