Downloadable products - need available with pending sale

Hi! I'm needing products to be available for download as soon as they make payment -- even if the payment is still pending. I've run through a few times and everything goes great but no download link appears (and not sent to my email either).

Any thoughts? Would a module or contribution help this at all? I need the link to either display OR be sent via email. All of the site's products are downloads.

Okay, finally found my answer.

To get there, I waded through a bajillion unanswered posts, unanswered followup questions and troubleshooted for hours on end, for the world's simplest fix. AND, the only mention I found thus far was on a 4-year-old thread.
