Guest Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Hi, new to OSCommerce myself and I have noticed that a lot of the Knowledge Base assistance is a bit dated and seems to show earlier versions than are currentlt in general use, so I thought I would offer some info that I have found thru trial and error. PRODUCT OPTIONS<p> If you sell products that look the same but come in different sizes this is more useful than if you need lots of different colours which all need their own photo to help sell. Click Products Attributes tab on the left In Products Options section add whatever new options you want to use (i.e. size ) In Option Values section add new list of each size you sell (i.e. dress or shoe sizes ) all as seperate options<p> Go to Catalog/Categories/Productsand select a product with EDIT (this will show you the PRE-TAX price, make a note of this ) Click Attributes and select chosen product at the bottom of the Products Attributes list In this row, select the option you wish to change (i.e. size) In same row, select the option value you wish to change (i.e. size 8, size 10 etc) Still in same row, find Value Price and type in the PRE-TAX price difference between the basic product you already have listed and the new option you are offering In Prefix enter either a Plus + sign (if new option is more than the original) or Minus - sign (if it is cheaper) Click Insert, and the job is done! hope this is of use to other newbies Ed
