MrPhil Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 You've cleared your browser cache, so you aren't pulling up old copies of the page? You may think you changed the permissions, but you didn't. If you go back in your hosting service file manager, or your FTP client, you will see that these files are still 644 (read-write by owner). You need to find out how to properly change permissions on your particular hosting system. I'm assuming that you're on a Linux system, which uses "xyz" permissions, rather than a Windows server, which as a "read-only" attribute for files. For example, in cPanel's File Manager, when you bring up the "Change Permissions" subwindow, do not type in the new numbers there (i.e., change 6 4 4 to 4 4 4). It won't 'take'. You have to click the boxes in the 3x3 grid (click off write by owner).
