VAT and none VAT customers

Hello,

 

I have a customer who sells mobility scooters and depending on if the person buying them is disabled or not determines if they pay VAT on the purchase. Does anyone know a way i can get people to select if they are disabled or not and for the ones that say they are get the VAT taken off their purchase as well as add in an extra step in the checkout process to fill in a form about their disability?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

What if i amended the country option name to read "VAT" and "non-VAT" and moved the option box on the page away from the address so they can select one or the other. If i then took out that part of the code for the other pages so it didn't include it on the address do you think that'll work?

 

Doesn't sort out them having to fill in the form but it solves half the problem.

 

Hope that made sense.

 

Basically i can't write PHP code at present but know enough to amend and move bits.
