Template Trouble

Hi all,

I'm a first-time user so I hope this is the correct place to post.

I purchased an OsCommerce Template about three months ago. Since then, I've been struggling with the whole thing because the documentation provides information regarding a different file structure to the files that came in the template.

I can only use sections of the OsCommerce Merchant Administration pages. For instance the "catalog" link doesn't work because there is no "catalog" folder. I have to make changes within the databases.

The files I purchased have the following file structure:

htdocs/mystorename/shop/osc

The version of OsCommerce which shows up in the Online Merchant Administration is 2.2 rc2

Does anyone know what's happening? I can't even follow some of the advice on this forum. Please help?

but how can we help? you probably need a webmaster, someone who will take care of your website. whoever sold you the template should know what to do.

You can instal your template wherever you want.

Right now, the path "catalog" means for you "osc" and you go from there on. But you can instal the complete thing in your public_html directly, just copy over all files to there.

Then you need to adjust the new path in your 2 configure.php files (catalog/includes/configure.php and catalog/admin/includes/configure.php) There are many topics in the forum about how to do this

The correct answer is to contact whoever you bought the template from and get their help.

After all, you spent money with them, so make them earn it!

Thank you all very much for your responses.

I contacted the template supplier and they have now given me the correct installation procedure.

It means I've got to start again but...hey...it's worth it now I'm on the right track.

Thanks again all.
