new install, new user, changes not seen

I just installed oscommerce via Fantastico at my InMotion Host site. I can log into the admin panel, but when I edit any of the sections, the changes are not reflected in the actual site. I have tried changing a number of values in the My Store, but none of the changes change the site. Refreshing the browser doesn't help... uggh! This is a site to help the homeless ... any help would be appreciated... thanks in advance

OK never mind. I got. I need to edit the index.php to make the change to the top header.
