Return customer to (existing) cart contents after login

1. Customer who isn't logged in browses the store and adds products to their cart.

a. clicks the cart checkout button.

b. logs into an existing account.

c. returns to the home page

d. must click shopping cart button or cart contents link in breadcrumb trail to continue checkout

 

 

Here is my question:

 

for 1. c. above, how do I return the customer to their shopping cart after logging into their account?
