Table Rates Shipping

I have been triying to get table rates shipping working with weight. I add the weight into the product and then sell multiple qauntiies of the product to check if the bands work. My understanding of how it is supposed to work is as follows:-

 

30:8.50,60:5.5,90:3.5,100000:0.0

should mean

 

if total weight of items in the transaction <30kg then delivery charge of 8.50 will be applied

if total weight of items in the transaction >30 and <60kg then delivery charge of 5.50 will be applied

if total weight of items in the transaction >60 and <90kg then delivery charge of 3.50 will be applied

if total weight of items in the transaction >90 and <100000kg then delivery charge of 0.00 will be applied

 

Firstly can anyone tell me if my understanding is right?

 

Secondly can anyone tell me why it is not working like this at all. I cannot figure out how it is applying the rules - makes no sense

Your understanding is correct.

Look at the settings for shipping within the configuration part of your admin area, and adjust accordingly.

30kg

 

shipping will not consider units.

So it depends what was added to product wt.

 

If 30 was stated thru admin it will be treated as 30.(No logic for units admin has to assume).

 

also there is a tare wt concept that will add.
