Largest OSCommerce sites?

We're phasing OSCommerce into some of our sites. We're concerned that it's incapable of handling as much traffic and as many database calls as we are likely to give it. Thus, my boss would like a list of some of the largest sites currently hosted on OSCommerce and about how much volume they do daily.

 

We currently average about 1000 hits/day on this one site, with between 50-150 orders each day. We're concerned that if we move this other site (5000 hits/day, about 400 orders/day) that we'll be really taxing the OSCommerce system.

 

So who has had success with big sites?

Hi Denis,

 

 

I currently own or maintain several sites that do as much or more volume than you described. The limitations I have found do not come from OSC, but the hosting site in most cases. Bandwidth or Database limitations are the cause of most OSC errors during high volume or peak periods.
