fabriccut100 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I sell fabrics on my site and was just wondering if I can somehow setup my products to sell half yards and quarter yards, I guess I would have to maybe do it with attributes but I'm not sure how to set them up so it will deduct the price, does anyone know where I can read a tutorial or find step by step directions on how I may do this? Thank you to all in advance for any help Kelly
Guest Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Hi Kelly, You can easily set up the attributes for most products with a little pre-planning. For example: Fabric A sells for 10.00 1/4 yard. So you set up the new product with the base price of 10.00 and describe it as 1/4 yard. Then add the attribute 1/2 yard and 1 yard, increasing the cost accordingly for each new attribute. When the customer looks at the product, they know they can purchase 1/4 yard for 10.00 and can also select the 1/2 yard and 1 yard option from the attribute drop down menu. Hope this helps. Chris
fabriccut100 Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Chris, Thank You so much for your insight, I think that may work, but I have so many products that it would take quite some time to change them all, I was wondering, do you think there may a contribution to add radio buttons for the quarter and half yards? but then I realized that the selection is made before the quantity can be added which means if I select a 1/4 yard when I add say a 2 in the quantity box it doubles the 1/4 at least that's what's happening when I tried to use the attributes, sorry to rant, but thank you so much for your quick response I really do appreciate it. if you can think of anything else please let me know THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
