Can't add product to "What's New Here" listing

Hey guys,

 

Quick intro, I'm new to osCommerce, but I've had some experience in PhP & MySQL. I'm taking over maintenance of an osCommerce website for a friend. So far I've gotten the hang of some of it's capabilities, and I've gotta say, it's been fun working with it.

 

Here's my dilemma. I've successfully added a new product per my buddy's requirements. But he wants it to show up on the home page under the What's New Here listing, and I'm unable to figure out how to do that. The home page already has 5 other products in the What's New Here section, and I can't see where I'd have the option to edit these. I've been looking for some sort of attribute or configuration page where I can select which products I want to appear on the front page, and in what order. Can anyone please help with this? Also, let me know if posting a link to the website will help, and I'll do so.

You have a few choices here, you get both from the contributions area

Star products http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2255

 

Featured products http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/651

 

Start products highlights one product at the top of the page, featured products you can feature as many as you like, normally it replaces the new_products module

I guess that seems to be the problem, I'm not seeing a "new_products" module on the administrative end of the website. Where should I be looking for this? The modules section has 3 categories - Payment, shipping and order total. None of these seem relevant to the new products listing on the home page. What am I missing?

Never mind folks, finally figured it out. Turns out the last admin was using a modified query to get exactly what products he wanted to show up on the homepage. Thanks for you help.
