hobbzilla
I was just curious how the majority of people handle Donations to the Developers (if you donate at all). Perhaps a team member can enlighten me! If I send all the donation to Harald.. does he redistribute any of those proceeds to other team members based on his perceived workloads, etc.? I am assuming not, since each dev team member has their own "Donate" button. Splitting up the total donations into smaller chunks is vexing me. It seems a bit unfair to those whom I have had specific dealings with.. So, I'm just curious as to other supporters thoughts and opionions and past actions regarding this. I personally have no idea of the workload that goes on behind the scenes. All I can see is posting commits and who is posting on these forums. I just want to give the each member of the team their due. Please Note:
wizardsandwars
Personally, I make donations to team members who are the most specifically helpful to me. And I know he's usually too busy to help, so I donate to Harold as well. I usually donate a little at a time. When a team member give a problem of mine particular attention, or helps me understand something new. I also like to give a small donation around the holidays. Of course, I expense everything, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help. burt
We donate a set amount for every shop brought live. We used to donate to a Team member but that person rarely (like 1 in 5) gave the courtesy of a quick "thank you" which I thought was out of order. Started donating to a different team member instead... If any of the Team members help out personally (ie over and above general help), we also buy from their Amazon list on top of the donation. Will choose a different team member again for the next few shops, who to choose, who to choose ;) :)
