raemacleman Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Hi, I'm new to osCommerce and am confused over which version I should use. I have two requirements... 1. It should be a stable release and not a beta and have reasonable support in this forum. 2. I need to implement a local delivery for frozen food which will be available to local postcodes e.g. If you register (or choose) a local address you will get 3 shipping options... Collect from us (FREE) We will deliver locally (£4.50) Delivery by national carrier (£9.50) If your postcode is outside the local area you get Delivery by national carrier (£9.50) I'm trying to mimic the shipping options on another osCommerce store (http://www.stiltonbutchers.co.uk) so I know it can be done, but I'd like to know if this can be done (A) out of the box, (B) with a minimal hack or © major changes required to the code. I'm an experienced ASP developer so I could do some amendments to the code, but I'm not a PHP user. ANY help or advice would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
Xpajun Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I'm not sure what the stability of V3 is at the moment but RC2a will do everything you want and there is a lot of add-ons available for it. Depending on which part of the world you are in will say how much is in the box and how much you will have to adopt My store is currently running Phoenix 1.0.3.0 I'm currently working on 1.0.7.2 and hope to get it live before 1.0.8.0 arrives (maybe 🙄 ) I used to have a list of add-ons here but I've found that with the ones that supporters of Phoenix get any other add-ons are not really neccessary
spooks Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 not a beta since v3 is still in alpha, you've already made your descision, use rc2a.
