kinetiknz Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Hi there, I have just installed OSC, and it seems to have worked fine. I'm just working through the first set of bugs, I get this message when loading the catalog. "Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: public_html/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file." I can change the permissions on this file. But none of the available changes seem to get rid of the bug. What permissions does this file need exactly??
germ Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Try permissions in this order until the warning message disappears: 644 444 400 Note that anything less than 644 makes the file "read only" even to you. And don't use FTP to change permissions. Most people have to login and use their web host account cPanel (NOT the osC Admin!) to make permission changes. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. kinetiknz Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 ahhh, thanks for the info. I have been using an FTP program to do it!
