cart run on ip rather than domain name

How do I set my cart up so I can set it up and configure it on a new server before I change my domain name over.

 

I have it installed currently but it redirects me to the domain name and I don't have the ability to modify the new server. I need it to run temporary on the ip address of my new server can that be done?

It's been a while since I've tried it, but I think that you just have to edit the HTTP_SERVER and HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN (to be the IP instead of the domain name) in includes/configure.php and turn ENABLE_SSL to false (the domain name SSL certificate won't work with the IP).
