installing osCommerce in MAMP (MAC OS) testing server

I am trying to install osCommerce on a MAMP (OSX) testing server.

 

Following the documentation steps...

I load the catalog folder into htdocs,

I create a blank database and assign a user (thru phpmyadmin),

I follow the steps in the install routine,

and the install program tells me that I am finished - installation and configuration successful.

However, when I try to go to the admin panel to customize the installation, I get the following error message:

 

1146 - Table 'mitrpakstore.configuration' doesn't exist

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Log in to phpMyAdmin and

 

select the database you created for your store.

 

Click SQL tab >> click BROWSE >> double click "oscommerce.sql" file - It's inside the oscommerce install folder.

 

>> Click GO

That worked! The sequence was a little different, but I saw what you were doing, so that got me up and running.
