Guest
I ahve searched other "fatal error" threads, and can't seem to find anything on this one. Can someone help? It's kinda urgent. Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _sess_open() (previously declared in /home/kadmin/public_html/shop/includes/functions/sessions.php:18) in /home/kadmin/public_html/shop/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 18 What's the problem? What does it mean? And how do I fix it? Line 18, incidentally, reads: 18 function _sess_open($save_path, $session_name) { 19 return true;

Guest
Rex, First, bumping your post is against the forum rules. If you don't receive an answer in a reasonable amout of time...wit is usually because: A-no one knows the answer, B-It has been answered a million times. Which does your question qualify for? PS- The search function on the forum works really well if you put an asterisk in front and behind of your search string. For example you should get lots of hits for: *Cannot redeclare _sess_open* Try it....
Guest
"Search found 2857 matches" Would you have time to search thru 2857 threads? Neither do I. As I said initially....I was unable to find anything specifically about this problem in other threads...searching as you indicated did nothing to change that statement. I have just spent the last 3 hours, sitting here going through the first 18 pages of 247 returned pages of results for that search string...and not one, so far, has provided any helpful information. So I guess that would mean that this has not been answered a million times before. As for no one knowing the answer, I was allowing for that fact that not everyone who is a member of these forums reads all the new threads within the first few hours of them being posted. It was hoped that by "bumping" my psot, as you put it, I might bring it to the attention of some more members browsing the threads for the first time since I had posted it originally. I have an index.htm page set up as a "splash page"...this error I am getting comes when the catalog page (default.php) is accessed. This means that NO-ONE is able to access my site at all beyond that original splash page! Again, as I said initially, this IS a somewhat urgent matter. I am, naturally, eager for a resolution to this problem. I did not want to break forum rules by "bumping" my psot...I simply wanted to bring it to the attention of a fresh set of eyes browsing the threads. However, it looks like my question falls into the category of a) no one knows the answer.
Guest
# No "bump" postings are allowed, which bring a posting to the top of the thread list. If a posting did not receive a reply, post it again (in the same thread) with more detailed information. First, you did not add any more detailed information to help with diagnosing your problem. So, you did bump your post. Second, you obviously didn't follow my search instructions correctly or you would not have gotten more than 2000 posts. If you had, You would have gotten 17 threads and found a possible answer in this one: http://www.www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic...are+sessopen%2A

If you don't receive an answer in a reasonable amout of time...wit is usually because: A-no one knows the answer, B-It has been answered a million times. Which does your question qualify for? actually there is a 3rd here too... C - Nobody really gives a **** about your problem. Sadly I find C to be the qualifying reason alot of times. Guest
No actually if you follow your instructions precisely, you get 2,860 matches Ok, my apologies...I failed to mention that in addition to the asterisks, you need to use the "search for all terms".......So, shave my head and send me to boot camp. The points are: 1- Post the details of the problem. What system is it on? What were you doing when the error occured? What have you changed/modified? How have you tried to resolve the problem? 2- Yes, I know the search on the forum is weird...but, if you persist, nine times out of ten you will find an answer or at least something that may point you in the right direction. Keep trying.
dreamscape
2- Yes, I know the search on the forum is weird...but, if you persist, nine times out of ten you will find an answer or at least something that may point you in the right direction. Keep trying. this is true... but since the search is so weird and unlike a "normal" search, most new users do not know how to work the search to get what they are looking for... perhaps if a "search guide" was posted as a sticky in one of the forums, (General would be the best I'd think), we'd get alot fewer questions about the search and alot fewer redundant questions. Guest
# First' date=' you did not add any more detailed information to help with diagnosing your problem. So, you did bump your post.[/quote'] First...I did not claim to not have bumped my post...I did not reply to my own message JUST to bump it....this really was an issue for me, and I just wanted an answer. Second...well, I think that has been adequately dealt with....and thanks for taking it so far off topic. :P My issue has finally been resolved...the good ole' fashioned way. I uninstalled OSC and re-installed it. Fortunately, I don;t have 1000's of products or that would have been a huge chore!
