Farrukh
HIya ll I am trying to get access to CVS Repository of Oscommerce and I am unable to do so through " WINCVS ". I tried to login as Admin as well as Create => Create New Repository but i get this error everytime. Python is not available ! cvs -d ":pserver:cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/tep login" login Logging in to :pserver:cvs [email protected]:2401/cvsroot/tep login Fatal error, aborting. cvs [login aborted]: cvs -d: no such user ***** CVS exited normally with code 1 ***** I have installed Python for Windows and its the latest version. But WinCVS still says that Python is not avalaible. I have tried both these commands described at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/cvs cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/tep login cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/tep checkout modulename Has anyone been able to access the repository through WinCVS. I have browsed the CVS Repository through SourceForge's web-based ViewCVS at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/tep/ But I want to do it with WinCVS too. zzfritz
I gave up after similar frustrations with WinCVS, but am now very satisfied with Tortoise CVS: http://www.tortoisecvs.org/ In case you don't already have a Diff viewer, Tortoise CVS works seamlessly with ExamDiff: http://www.prestosoft.com/ps.asp?page=edp_examdiff (warning: this site is unfriendly to non-IE browsers) These two free tools make working with the online CVS a breeze, and have made me a True Believer. Farrukh
Hiya Fritz Thanks for the alternative to WinCVS. I'll give it a try but I would still want to go with WinCVS , if anyone else has done it.
