Trailz
How come there is no total price with shipping before we ask them for payment type. The only way on my site to get your total cost with tax and shipping is to actually enter your credit card. Is there a way to have it show the total price prior to asking for their credit card or other method of payment? Not sure how many of you have checked out Dell's site but I really like how they do their page. When you put in your shipto zipcode it then calculates your shipping price and tax if needed and you can get a total without even creating an account. I've wondered why a person has to create an account to actually findout what their total with shipping and tax will be (I know why just seems like the zipcode way would work.) Guest
Not knowing which Shipper you use, if you have the UPS Choice or USPS Methods contributions installed, each gives you a realtime shipping charge. One of these contribs combined with the Shopping Cart infobox contents will at least show you an Order SubTotal and Shipping charges. You could also use a payment processor that takes the user to a different webpage before asking to input CC info, something like PayPal or LinkPointBasic. I know these suggestions aren't dealing with your problem directly, but they are possible workarounds. I'm not sure if it is even feasible to move the order total process to preceed the input of CC info, because of the way checkout works. Maybe one of the osC gurus could chime in and let you know if this is possible. Good Luck. -R
