Guest
Good evening all! I was hoping that someone might be able to offer me some support. I am usually quite capable of managing PHP coding etc. for different software but I am having NO LUCK with this. 1st : I hear a lot of talk about an intall.php file. Well, I don't have one of these. 2nd : I have changed the configure.php file and am getting the message "cannot connect to database server" whenever I try to visit my store. Is there anyone out there with MSN Messenger / AOL Messenger etc who might be able to help me out? Thanks in advance Eddy
Aqua121
Hi Eddy, Have you seen either of the installation guides yet? http://guide.oscdox.com/ or this http://www.designhosting.biz/downloads/osc...de/oscguide.pdf I hope they'll help. :) and if you could post which version of osC you're using, it might help to help you  Susan Cheers, Susan * * * * * Find a way, or make one! toolcrazy
First go get 2.2cvs, sounds like you have 2.1tep. 2.1 doesn't have any install script and also doesn't have anymore support on this site. Then go to: http://guide.oscdox.com And study it. Steve -------------------------
Jan0815
I somehow think you might be using 2.1. If that is the case - there is no install directory in 2.1. Use a snapshot version, it contains an install directory in the catalog directory. Your second problem coudl be related. In 2.1 all configuration is done in the application_top.php file, to be found under catalog/includes and admin/includes. There shoudl be no configure.php with 2.1. HTH You can't have everything. HaggisBoy
Hi All, it's Eddy Two here. I had to create this new username 'cos my old was wasn't working and it said that my username and password didn't match the bla bla bla. Whatever :P . Just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all who offered support above - it worked and I have been able to set the store up. It's not working yet cos I have to make the modifications to the layout etc. but the actual system is working. I am eternally grateful. You're such a nice bunch ;)
