Adding products/categories using Easy Populate

(I'm totally new to this)

 

I need to add many products and there must be a faster way than manually doing each product one by one. (I said I'm a newbie!) If I can get the products into an .xls file, then can I export as a .csv to upload through Easy Populate?

 

Setting up the the .xls file- one row per product, with columns as each option I'm given when I add product manually?
