bobbybrown Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Hey there, I have uploaded my products to my oscommerce but now I have some problems. I used an XML file and converted it to a CSV file, then uploaded that. My problem is, if my product requires batteries then for some reason its listed in the shop twice, one with batteries and one without, rather than giving the customer the option to choose. Same with sizes, if I have a product that comes in small, medium and large then there is a seperate listing for each rather than just one listing with the 3 sizes available. Same goes for colours. Can someone help me and give me some guidance please? Any help appreciated. Cheers
♥ecartz Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I'm guessing that you used Easy Populate to upload your products? You might get more help in the Easy Populate & Products Attributes, Easypopulate support thread in the contributions area. In general, it sounds like you uploaded multiple rows for a single product. Each product should have one row and only one row. If you upload two choices on two rows, they will show as two products. The simple way (albeit potentially a lot of work) would be to go through your product file and clean it up manually. A more complex way would be to change how you created the XML file. As that is outside of osCommerce, we can't give you much guidance there. A way that would involve coding would be to change Easy Populate so that it reads your file in the way that you intend. Does that help you get started at all? Always back up before making changes.

I'm now trying easy csv import, but just keep getting an error that says row 2, the count of fields is wrong I am now trying with a CSV file downloaded directly from my suppliers.
♥geoffreywalton Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 You could download your file and then reformat it to make size and with/without batteries an option. Set up 2 parts, one with batteries as an attribute and the other with size as an attribute. Then export it and see how the file looks. Now you can adjust your xml conversion to output in the new format.
