Shipping per order on some items

We are looking for a shipping module to

Have a shipping cost per order regardless of how many items are in the order, how ever we do not want this per order module to apply across the whole shop.

The shipping module needs to be Category specific, so products like Tickets will use this method, but things like T- Shirts, dvd’s, etc should have another shipping cost, which would be on a per item basis.

Thanks in advance.

What happens if a person orders a ticket and a tshirt in the same order?

Then it would be my thought that the customer would get charged the higher amount, which would be the t shirt, But that would start to get complicated. The easy option there would be, they would get charged for both lots of postage.

To be honest I hadn't thought of that, but if someone has any ideas we would be open to see what you think.

It's very simple.

Charge postage by weight.

Give tickets a weight of zero.

Give other items a weight of 1 or whatever

zero weight = zero cost.

That would work if both were ordered, but it brings us back to the original post. We would like the tickets charged on a per order basis regardless if the otder consists of 10 tickets, all other items on a per item basis.

You can add a handling fee that will be the shipping cost for tickets.

t-shirts will have a weight of 1

following cases

1) tickets only = handling fee only, doesn't matter the quamtity

2) t shirts only = weight x quantity + handling fee

3) t shirts + tickets = same as above, so tickets go free, you can andvertise this

Thanks, that sounds as though it will work for what we want to do.
