minckle Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Hi Im trying to install osCommerce but having problems. I've installed php and mysql, created the database I go to http://localhost/catalog/install/index.php, all the ' Server Capabilities ' are ticked so i click continue enter the database settings and click continue and i get the following message The database structure is now being imported. Please be patient during this procedure. unfortunately this message stays on forever and i never get the opporuntity to set anything else up. Can you help / advice me ? My PC: Windows XP IIS 5.1 MySQL 5.1 PHP 5.2
BryceJr Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 If it's not a must for you to use IIS, the alternative is to install >>XAMPP. Some instructions >> here, if you choose to go this route.
minckle Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 I suppose its not a must but ideally id prefer to use IIS as i already have a few different sites set up all using IIS and all work correctly. i also do aloot of work with visual studio and everythings set to use iis
mearlin Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I found that even though I had set up everything using FastCGI, it wasn't working. Under Handler Mappings, I did the action "Add Script Map..." and added php-cgi.exe there and left the FastCGI Handler in place as well. I'm trying to figure out why this is working, but have yet to discover the reason. Try that, might work for you.
