Gaelic Crossings - Redesign complete...assessments?

Hey all-

Well, taking into consideration your comments last week, I hired out to have the site freshened up. I will be going live in about 10 days.

www.gaeliccrossings.com/catalog/

I also integrated the look and feel of the store into the main page and the forums, as well as modularized the main page to be able to do includes for each type of page as opposed to having bunches of different pages with the same stuff.

Things still to do:

1) Finish getting all product images from the manufacturers

2) Change the background on a few of the buttons to match color scheme

3) Enter in Gift Voucher stuff

4) Enter shipping information (Pretty easy, most of the stuff I sell gets shipped directly from the maker, and is included in the cost.)

My questions are mostly what people think of the redesign, and the look and feel of the site. I've looked at it with NS7, IE5+, but I haven't had a chance to do opera. I do know it doesn't work well with older NS browsers because of the stylesheet stuff.

Thanks for all your previous comments, and I look forward to the new feedback!!

John,

Very nice, Burt's transparent box idea looks great with the Gaelic theme.

Don't forget to change the BG color in the account sign up area...it's still blue :D

Overall it looks great!

But I am not a fan of seeing the same site redesigned over again.

Afterall if we all did it, we would all be using the stock OSC style.

Nice looking all the same tho.

There are three shops using this "look", how many shops use Stock look ? I bet it would be impossible to find all three shops for anyone who never visited this Forum. 2 more and thats it for that template.

Next template is being built right now, for a pole/exotic dancing shop. :)

ps, I like the design a lot, who did it ;)

Only thing is that you have stuffed up the boxes other than the side infoboxes. You'll need to amend the class that builds the boxes, or just remove the class entirely and do it using CSS instead...

When did I say someone said it was?

Should I have added IMO (?)

There was me thinking websites should at least have a unique design.

All this time we should just all have been copying amazon... :?

pffff...

That is the $1 million dollar question.

Financial backers are being a pain in the rear big style!

We have been forced to go the dreaded Worldpay route for the short term.

But it should be open by end of this month.

(Boy I feel like I have been saying that forever now!)

Been going nigh on 3 years (which for an Internet co. is a lifetime!). Theres a fair few hundred sites out there with the "Seen Online" tag...not many Oscs though as we have another brand that deals exclusively with E-Commerce set-ups...

I removed the link as the S-O site is undergoing a major revamp in readyness for Mid March (3rd birthday), lots of special offers and a nice competition upcoming also :)

ps, sorry this has gone so O/T Aodhan. I'll see if I can't come up with something to create your boxes using CSS rather than nested tables...

No biggie. It keeps it "bumped" at the top, although only one or two have commented on the look/feel (Even if it isn't completely "unique" )

Although I'm not sure what you mean by stuffed boxes though... :?:
